This was my favorite photo from a day of shooting in Washington, D.C. during this years Vigil for Life and March for Life, annual events that bring together pro-life activists from all over the country. There are a lot of families and youth who attend. This little girl was taking part in an early morning Mass at the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Her eyes make the moment for me. copyright CATHOLIC COURIER

Vigil for Life

One of my favorite Christmas photos from this year, a very serious Captain America after receiving a mask from Grandma to go along with his shield.

Captain for Christmas

It’s been a record season so far for lack of snowfall in and around Rochester. But that doesn’t stop snow sports enthusiasts from tuning up their equipment and getting ready for wintry weather. I photographed avid snowmobiler Kelley Fitzgerald for an Excellus BCBS publication.

Ready for snow

I covered a Veterans Day ceremony at St. John Neumann School yesterday. The lights went out for a slideshow, which I thought was a terrible development for me but then one of the teachers played ‘Taps’ on the trumpet and I got this silhouette. I read that ‘Taps’ is traditionally played at night to indicate ‘lights out’ so this is apropos…..that’s right I said apropros.
