There was just enough light left around dusk last night to catch these pink tree blossoms in my yard and set them apart from the darkness of the ground.

Star Wars comes alive

We braved the crowds at Rochester’s Strong Museum this weekend to meet some hard core Star Wars re-enactors. Maybe this isn’t what they like to be called, I don’t know. Anyway, you couldn’t throw a stone without hitting an imperial guard or a bounty hunter. As a father, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing your kid shake hands with a storm trooper and high-five Chewbacca, so I’m glad I have these pictures.

Charlotte Lighthouse

I took this photo while I was shooting a freelance assignment at the historic Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse in Rochester. The building dates to 1822. Obviously it’s no longer in use, you may have guessed that by looking at the 15-watt compact fluorescent bulb at the top. The building is open to the public and includes a gift shop and small museum. I recommend it if you’re looking for something to do in Rochester, once temps are out of the 30s.

Micro spring

Vigil for Life

This was my favorite photo from a day of shooting in Washington, D.C. during this years Vigil for Life and March for Life, annual events that bring together pro-life activists from all over the country. There are a lot of families and youth who attend. This little girl was taking part in an early morning Mass at the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
